Task
The welnaknauf.pl website covers mineral wool insulation from the Knauf Insulation brand. It has guides, products, a map of several hundred points of sale, and calculators and a configurator on separate subdomains. I have provided technical maintenance for the website for years, since long before another company rebuilt it completely. After the rebuild, the home page needed fixes, and the brand needed two landing pages for campaigns, designed in Adobe XD. In addition, the hosting was filling up with files nobody remembered, and updates kept being put off for fear of breaking the map or a calculator.
02 · Solution
Solution
I fixed the home page after the rebuild and built two landing pages from the Adobe XD files, “Dobra izolacja” and the configurator page with the brand’s external application embedded in it. The brand can now send traffic from its adverts to both of them. The technical maintenance continues as before. I run updates after a backup and then check the distributor map, the calculators and the configurator, because they are what makes the website useful.
In the process, I also cleaned up the hosting. The account had filled up with automatic backups from a single plugin, created every hour for several months. After analysing them, I deleted them safely, keeping the most recent one, and switched off the mechanism that created them.
03 · Result
Result
The home page and both landing pages are ready for campaigns, the map of several hundred points of sale works after every update, and the hosting has spare space and a predictable update schedule. I handle requests from the brand as part of the ongoing work.
