Artegardens designs and installs automatic garden irrigation for customers in eastern Germany. The old website ran on a website builder. The home page had dozens of embedded videos, the mobile version took tens of seconds to load, and each city page had only a few dozen words. There were no meta descriptions and no structured data, and the analytics code from several years earlier no longer worked. The company had twenty reviews with the highest rating and real projects to show, yet it was losing visibility in Google year after year.

I started with an audit covering visibility, performance, content, the Google Business Profile and the link profile. The audit led to the decision to rebuild the website rather than fix it. I built the new one as a static website, following the mock-up and the style guide supplied by the client. It has 23 pages, including separate full pages for eight cities, four service pages, a references page and a blog with guides. The contact form has its own backend on the client’s hosting. It sends the email, protects the form from bots and keeps an encrypted register of enquiries in case the email fails.
Before switching the domain, I prepared a list of 45 redirects from the old addresses, my own cookie banner that loads analytics only after the visitor gives consent, and structured data for the company. I continue to work with the client on SEO.

After the launch, the new website scored 100 points in PageSpeed Insights on both mobile and desktop. The old addresses lead to the new pages, the switch did not lower the rankings in Google, and the city pages now have content that Google can show to a customer searching in that region. Enquiries from the form reach the client, with a copy kept in the register.
