SEO for the Polish market

If your company wants customers in Poland, your website needs a Polish version written for Polish searches from the start, rather than a translation of your current pages. Polish is my native language, and for years I have worked for companies in Poland and Germany. I handle the whole process: keyword research in Poland, the choice of domain or folder, Polish content, Google Ads in Polish and a report every 30 days. My SEO plans start at €500 net per month, invoiced in euro.

  • Polish content by a native speaker
  • Keyword and competitor research in Poland
  • Google Ads in Polish when time matters
  • Plans from €500 net/month

Scope of work

What entering the Polish market involves

Five areas come up every time a company enters the Polish market: the language version, the keywords, the content, adverts if needed and the technical details that decide whether Polish customers trust you.

A Polish version of your website

I build the Polish version as a structure of its own rather than as a translation of your existing pages. It has offer pages for the searches of Polish customers, contact details and forms in Polish, and hreflang tags so that Google shows the right version in the right country. Before the first line of content, you decide with me whether the version runs on a .pl domain or in a folder of your current website.

Keywords and competitors in Poland

The research starts from scratch: what Polish customers type, how many searches there are, who holds the first page of results in Poland and whether those are manufacturers, resellers or portals. Polish has seven grammatical cases, so the same word takes different endings and a dictionary is not enough. I build the keyword list from tools for the Polish market and from Google’s own suggestions.

Polish content from a native speaker

I write the texts in Polish, my native language, around searches from Poland and the points Polish customers expect a foreign supplier to cover: delivery, installation, warranty and contact in Polish. The source material comes from your company, and I check the facts with you before anything is published.

Google Ads in Poland

If you need enquiries sooner than organic visibility can bring them, I set up campaigns in Polish Google Search, with ad copy in Polish, keywords from the Polish market, negative keywords based on real searches and conversion tracking. Management costs from €300 net per month, and you pay the ad budget directly to Google.

Technical details and trust in Poland

I measure load times from Poland and check that prices appear in zloty or with the currency clearly stated. Polish customers should find a Polish phone number or contact in Polish, and forms and order emails in the same language as the website. A lawyer decides which information obligations apply to Polish customers. I make sure the required information appears on the website in a readable form and is indexed correctly.

Differences

What is different about Poland

The rules of SEO are the same, but the details differ. These are the four things I clarify first in every project for the Polish market.

  • A language with seven cases

Polish customers search with inflected words, and the same service takes a different form depending on the search. A keyword list translated from your own language misses part of those searches. That is why I build the list from Polish data and write the texts in the words Polish customers use.

  • Google and the search results in Poland

In Poland, Google dominates search, and other search engines play practically no role. I check the first page of results from the point of view of a user in Poland, because seen from abroad it looks different.

  • Trust in a supplier from abroad

A company from abroad has to answer questions that a Polish supplier does not hear: who does the installation, how delivery works, which language customers can use to get in touch and how complaints are handled. The answers belong on the website before the customer asks.

  • The order of work and the budget

Entering the market usually starts with a language version for your main services rather than a translation of the whole website. After the first months, the data shows which searches bring enquiries, and the version grows where it pays off. Adverts reach customers in Poland from the first day, while the content builds visibility that lasts.

Process

From market research to ongoing work

I take the first step once, before you decide to work with me. The other three are ongoing work on your visibility in Polish Google search.

  1. Research into the Polish market

Before you set a budget, I check the search volumes for your services in Poland, who holds the first page of results and how strong their backlinks are. This shows how long entering the market realistically takes and which searches give you the quickest chance. You get these findings before you decide to work with me.

  2. Choosing the address and structure

This step settles whether the Polish version runs on a .pl domain, in a folder or on a subdomain, which pages come first and how hreflang and redirects are set up. These decisions cost the most to change a year later, so I write down the consequences of each option and you decide with me.

  3. Content in Polish

I write offer pages for searches from Poland, product descriptions and guides that reach customers at an earlier stage. Every text starts in Polish rather than as a translation of your original. I agree your industry’s technical terms with you, so that the Polish version describes the same services as your main website.

  4. Ongoing work and a report every 30 days

After that, the rhythm is the same as for your home market: new texts, optimisation of existing ones, backlinks from Polish websites and a report on your positions in Polish Google, written in English. I monitor Poland separately, because results seen from abroad differ from those a customer in Poland sees.

Starting the project

What I need from you

I need five things to start. The most important is who will answer enquiries in Polish: once the Polish version is visible, they start coming in, and your company should be ready for them.

If nobody in your company speaks Polish, you can still start. I agree with you which language the contact will be in and state it openly on the Polish version. Polish customers value a clear note more than a form that nobody answers.

  • a description of the services or products you want to start with in Poland, and the regions you deliver to
  • access to your current website, or a decision on whether a separate .pl domain should be set up
  • access to Search Console and Analytics, or your agreement to set them up
  • information on which language Polish customers can use to contact you and who answers enquiries in Polish
  • documents on delivery, installation, warranty and complaints, so that the Polish version answers these questions

Other services

The Polish market is one of several directions. Visibility in your home market and in other countries can run in the same plan, and Google Ads is a separate service.

You will find the prices of the monthly plans on the SEO page. I describe the process for other countries under International SEO. If the Polish version is to be a separate website, that is development work, which I describe under Website design and development.

FAQ

Questions about the Polish market

What companies ask before entering Poland: translation, the domain, the texts, costs, timelines and legal information.

Is it enough to translate my website into Polish?

A translated website is usually correct Polish, and yet nobody finds it, because it was built around keywords in another language. Polish customers use different words and inflected forms, and some of your pages make no sense in Poland while others are missing. That is why I start with a keyword list from Polish data and write the text only after that.

Do I need a .pl domain?

Not necessarily. A .pl domain is a strong signal for Google and looks familiar to Polish customers, but it starts without the history of your current domain and means a second website. Using a folder such as yourdomain.com/pl/ is cheaper and faster and works well for testing the market. I compare both options using your figures, and the decision comes before the first line of content, because changing it later costs rankings.

Who writes the Polish texts?

I do. Polish is my native language, and I write the content around searches from Poland, based on material from your company. Before publication, I agree your industry’s technical terms and all the facts with you. I do not translate your pages sentence by sentence, because Polish customers would not find a translation like that.

How much does SEO in Poland cost?

The plans are the same as for any other market: €500, €900 or €1,300 net per month, billed monthly with no minimum term. For online shops I prepare an individual quote; the scope depends on the number of products and the competition. Building the Polish language version or a separate website is a project of its own, which I quote after analysing the scope. I manage Google Ads in Poland from €300 net per month, and the ad budget goes directly to Google. All prices are net, excluding VAT. The offer is for businesses only.

How long until my website is visible in Poland?

With a folder on your existing domain, the first changes usually show after 2 to 3 months, and stable positions after about six months. A new .pl domain starts more slowly, because Google has to get to know it first, and clear results take closer to a year. If you need enquiries sooner, adverts in Polish Google Search can bring them in the meantime.

What does a website for Polish customers need legally?

A lawyer decides which information is required. I make sure it is on the website, readable and correctly indexed, and I add the Polish texts.

Are you a Polish SEO agency?

No. OneNet is a one-person business based in Poland. I work remotely with companies in the UK and the EU, among them a chain of tattoo and piercing studios in the UK and education organisations in Belgium. You deal with me directly, in English. The research, the Polish texts, the changes on your website and the report all come from me.
